SPEAKING AT MEETINGS:
1. You will only be allowed 3 minutes or they could decide on just 2 minutes.2. Be courteous but still be honest and get your point across.3. Make sure what you are saying is accurate. (do the research and be careful of inaccuracies in AI material).4. Talk from the heart, this matters to us.5. If you can memorize your speech that's fine; however, when a person gets nervous it helps to have paper work in front of you to read.6. Time yourself before the meeting and know how much time you need.7. Line up people ahead of time who will fill out a form and give you their 3 minutes if you need them. The Board of Supervisors is not allowing transfer of minutes. Also, once in a while they decide you cannot use someone else's minutes, be prepared with your speech written out to have someone else finish your speech. 8. Forms are in the back of the meeting chambers and many times needs to be submitted before the meeting begins.9. Some of this material they have certainly heard before, but they have not heard it from you. Also you can change it up some, stick to pertinent facts of great interest or something you think they have not heard before. What will they hear from you that might make them care and want to reject these projects.10. Please!Make sure you are very close to the microphone. We're not talking about a foot away, we're talking about 2-3". You want the P&Z and BOS to hear you, along with the audience and minutes that are being recorded.SCHEDULE OF PLANNING & ZONING MEETINGS (P&Z)Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month.May 6, 2026June 3, 2026July 1, 2026 Work session 12:00 P.M. and meeting at 1:00 p.m.August 5, 2026September 2, 2026October 7, 2026November 4, 2026December 2, 2026Public meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. (MST) with a working session at 4:00 p.m. (MST).
